As Nosara continues to grow, we believe businesses have a responsibility to contribute to the infrastructure, organizations, and people that make this town function. For us, community involvement is not a marketing strategy or a once-a-year donation drive. It is part of how we operate every single day.

From supporting local non-profits to contributing to emergency services, environmental protection, animal welfare, and community infrastructure, giving back has become one of the core values behind how we run our company.

WHY COMMUNITY SUPPORT MATTERS IN NOSARA

Nosara is unlike many tourist destinations in Costa Rica. Much of what makes the town beautiful and functional exists because local organizations and volunteers have stepped in where government resources are often limited.

The roads, protected green spaces, recycling initiatives, emergency response services, water infrastructure, animal rescues, and community projects all rely heavily on donations, memberships, and local support.

Organizations like the Nosara Civic Association and the local Bomberos de Nosara play an enormous role in maintaining the quality of life here — not just for residents, but for every visitor who comes to enjoy Nosara’s beaches, jungle, wildlife, and community atmosphere.

Without these organizations, Nosara would not be the destination people know and love today.

That’s why we believe businesses benefiting from tourism should also help support the systems keeping the town sustainable.

OUR MONTHLY DONATIONS

Every month, Rent Nosara donates between $500–$800 USD directly to local non-profit organizations and community initiatives throughout Nosara.

These donations support a variety of causes that impact the community in meaningful ways, including:

  • Animal rescue organizations

  • Community food banks

  • Local firefighters

  • Environmental and conservation initiatives

  • Equine therapy programs

  • Youth and wellness programs

  • Community improvement organizations

Rather than focusing on a single cause, we try to spread our support across multiple organizations that each contribute something important to Nosara.

Some organizations protect the environment. Others help families in need. Others provide emergency response services that are absolutely critical in a growing beach town like ours.

We believe all of these efforts matter.

SUPPORTING THE NOSARA CIVIC ASSOCIATION

One of the organizations closest to our hearts is the Nosara Civic Association, often referred to locally as the NCA.

The NCA has played an enormous role in preserving Nosara’s identity over the years. Their work includes environmental conservation, maintaining protected green spaces, supporting infrastructure improvements, and helping guide responsible growth within the community.

Many visitors may not realize it, but the reason Nosara still feels lush, walkable, and connected to nature is largely because of decades of work by organizations like the NCA.

At Rent Nosara, we actively encourage all of our homeowners to become members of the NCA and contribute financially whenever possible. We believe supporting the NCA is one of the most impactful ways homeowners can help preserve the future of Nosara.

As tourism and development continue to increase, protecting the natural beauty and integrity of the town becomes more important than ever.

SUPPORTING THE LOCAL BOMBEROS

The Bomberos de Nosara are another incredibly important part of the community.

Emergency services in Nosara are not as simple as they are in larger cities. Road conditions, remote properties, weather, and infrastructure challenges make the work of the local firefighters especially important.

They respond not only to fires, but also medical emergencies, accidents, rescues, flooding situations, and community emergencies throughout the area.

Because of this, we strongly encourage our homeowners to make monthly donations directly to the Bomberos. We also contribute ourselves as a company because we know firsthand how valuable these services are for homeowners, guests, and residents alike.

Having a strong and properly funded emergency response team benefits the entire community.

WHY WE REQUIRE ASADA CONTRIBUTIONS

Water is one of Nosara’s most valuable resources.

Anyone who lives in or regularly visits Nosara understands how important it is to maintain and protect the local water systems. Growth in the area continues to place additional pressure on infrastructure, making sustainable water management increasingly important.

That is why Rent Nosara requires all homeowners we manage to contribute to the local ASADA Nosara donation program.

ASADA plays a crucial role in maintaining water infrastructure, handling repairs, managing resources, and helping ensure homes and businesses continue receiving water service reliably.

By requiring participation, we help ensure these organizations have the funding needed to respond quickly to repairs and maintain critical systems for the entire community.

Reliable infrastructure does not happen by accident — it depends on ongoing community investment.

OUR COMMUNITY IMPACT FEE

One of the biggest ways we support the community is through our guest community impact fee.

Every guest booking through Rent Nosara includes a $25-$50 community impact fee. This fee is split directly between the Nosara Civic Association and the Bomberos de Nosara.

This system allows every stay to contribute directly back into the community guests are enjoying during their vacation.

Over time, these contributions add up significantly and have made Rent Nosara one of the largest ongoing supporters of both organizations.

We are incredibly proud of that.

For guests, it means their vacation is helping support:
